Verdant Bioscience Pte Ltd was founded in 2013, is head-quartered in Singapore, and has PT Timbang Deli Indonesia as its operating plantation subsidiary in North Sumatra. This is the location of the Verdant Plantation Science Centre (VPSC).
Although Verdant is a young company, it has gained value from over 50 years of knowledge and plant breeding selection progress, accumulated by Harrisons & Crosfield in Malaysia and Indonesia and by New Britain Palm Oil Ltd on its plantations and at its Oil Palm Research Station in Papua New Guinea.
On 1st September 2014, Verdant operations in Indonesia were initiated with fifteen founding staff members who provided both long-term commitment together with their knowledge, acquired over many years of international experience.
Their names were engraved on the Foundation Gong as a symbol of Verdant’s potential resonance through invention and innovation that will transform the global oil palm industry.
At the VPSC we have dedicated laboratories for Breeding and Biotech (Cell biology & Genomics), Tissue Culture, Pollen, Plant and Soil Nutrition Analysis, Bunch & Oil Analysis and Ganoderma Screening.
Our Oil Palm Seed Production facility germinates Verdant seed from our seed gardens, and we also sell Verdant seedlings grown in our nurseries.
