Verdant has the IP, knowledge and cutting-edge technology to deliver F1 Hybrid varieties in the future that can increase oil palm yield by more than 100% !
Significantly increased yield will reduce or eliminate the need for new land acquisition, forest and biodiversity destruction or peatland reclamation, whilst increasing plantation profit.
Verdant’s ultimate objective is to develop commercial F1 Hybrid oil palm seeds that embrace hybrid vigour, exhibit other desirable traits and which are genetically uniform.
Our work is running ahead of schedule, and our goal is to be the first company in the world to produce and sell commercial quantities of fully field-tested oil palm F1 Hybrid varieties.
Following nine years of pioneering scientific work, Verdant has successfully developed and carefully pre-selected hundreds of F1 Hybrid parental lines, and then crossed a selection of them to produce progeny candidates from which world beating commercial F1 Hybrid varieties are being selected.

Verdant intends to have fully field tested, high yielding and genetically uniform F1 Hybrid varieties available for plantations company clients by 2029.
This will be the start of a pipeline of continually improving Verdant F1 Hybrid varieties.
However, this seed will be prioritized for partner plantations companies who have purchased Verdant’s current seed varieties (Verdant Select and Verdant V-80) prior to the introduction of Verdant’s F1 Hybrid varieties.
